Windows Live

I recently updated my personal laptop to start using MS Windows Live.  So far, I have to admit that I like it.  I have never really been a fan of Microsoft products but never really rebelled against the "man" (aka Bill Gates).

I did notice a bit of a performance hit on my computer after I installed and started using the app.  I have learned to live with it and decided to continuing using it for the next little while.

Some of the features that I have used so far that I like:

  • Live Mail: I have multiple personal email accounts (yahoo, hotmail, etc.) that are now all accessible from one app.  It was easy to configure.
  • Live Writer: This blog post was created with Live Writer with much ease!
  • Live Messenger: Of course, Messenger is a plug-in
  • Ease of use and resembles Microsoft Outlook / Office
    • I know, I know....your thinking the "cool fool" thinks that is a feature...
    • well, when you use MS Outlook and Office products as much as I do throughout the week at work, it makes using Live quite brainless on the weekends...I could use it in the dark.
    • Even the MS Office shortcuts apply to Live.

So, give it a try but don't let me know what you think.  Tell it to the "man".

I hate it. It makes my laptop cranky.
