Change isn't always bad

As the old saying goes...  "The best way to a man's heart is through his stomach".  A former sister-in-law once told me that "the best way to a man's heart is through his chest".  I guess both statements are true depending on your motive.

I cannot deny that I love change and variety in most aspects of my life.  Whether it is food, drink, personal or professional life, I like to enjoy the finer things in life.  Two of the pleasures I have since I started working in downtown London, Ontario is getting some noon time exercise walking to various restaurants.  I have been getting much more exercise and nutrition since changing jobs.

Who woulda thunk it?....that driving 120 Km/hr.(+/-) on 400 series highways while munching chips, eating bagels and downing coffee hasn't helped my boyish figure.  GO FIGURE.

Anyhow...to enlighten you, I will share my occasional restaurant reviews with you all.  They will be brief.

Today's lunch was at:

BUDAPEST RESTAURANT

348 DUNDAS ST     (near Waterloo)

Phone:   (519) 439-3431

I am not a restaurant critic, so please refer to this link for the details behind the restaurant from a “pro”.

My comments:

  • Good value, excellent food, service, and atmosphere.  Definite do over!
  • I was coached into having the Hungarian Platter for $12.60 (taxes incl.)
  • I tasted everything and finished ¾ of the dish.
  • Goulash Soup starter – piping hot and a bit spicy
  • Weiner Schnitzel - awesome
  • Cabbage Roll - meaty
  • Hungarian Sausage – tasty
  • Chicken Paprika – very tender chicken leg with a cream based sauce
  • Dumplings – pretty cool.  They looked like scrambled eggs?!
  • Best of all…..nice walk back to wear some of the calories off!
