Funny drive to work

London is a fairly quiet, conservative city and - particularly cold this morning (-9 degree C). For me...it is a nice mix, or satisfying compromise, of East Coast mentality with Toronto (Upper Canadian) bustle. There are many attractions to enjoy or simply stay within the security of your home. I suspect that it will be a great area to raise a family someday. Of course, things get even better if you move towards the East...better neighbors too!

There is always lots to observe in the "city"...funny looking chaps walking along the street, dozy people waiting for the bus, fast moving, well dressed seniors out for a morning walk, etc.

Anyhow.....we are driving into work this morning along Queens Avenue observing the city wake-up and there is some guy leaving a fenced-in parking lot area exiting onto the sidewalk. He closes the gate, pivots to make a turn, takes his first step and.....WHAM...ass-over-tea-kettle! Attaché case, hat, paper, and ego is spread out all over the place. You see, there is a surprising, light cover of snow on top a nasty piece of ice.

At first, my wife and I cringe and feel for the guy. We hope that he is OK. He stumbles back to his feet...looks around, gathers his belongings, and continues along with his day. At this point, my wife and I break out into absolute laughter. I am glad it wasn't me - this time! BUT, had it been me....I would get a chuckle knowing that someone saw me and was highly entertained.
